Comme au jour du repos un paysan s'en va Voir ses champs au matin, quand de la haute nuit brûlante Sans relâche ont jailli les éclairs glacés, et sourdement L'orage à l'horizon s'apaise et gronde encore, Le fleuve redescend à ses rives, une fraîcheur D'herbe verdit au sol, et la pluie du ciel, porteuse De joie, goutte à chaque cep, et les arbres du bosquet luisent Debout dans la paix du soleil : Tels vous voici, debout sous les cieux favorables, Vous non formés par un seul maître, ô vous qu'élève Aux lacs légers de sa magique omniprésence, Belle divinement, puissante, la Nature !
